The End Is Coming For The Chrysler 300 Sedan

The Chrysler brand is ready to move on from the 300 sedan model to go down a different path after being in production for 17 successful years. Another similar car to the Chrysler 300 is the Chrysler 300C which is a part of the second generation that debuted back in 2011. The 300C model came with a nicer interior, many improvements, new engines, plus lots more. A big reason the 300 model is ending is because the Chrysler brand wants to focus on their strategy of dominating the EV game.
Production Ends For 300C Model
Production has come to an end for the Chrysler 300C which has been known as a luxurious and powerful vehicle for a long time. This 2023 model is powered by a 6.4L HEMI engine and offers a special edition model to honor almost 70 years of the Chrysler 300 legacy. The 2023 Chrysler 300C is very powerful, getting 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, plus being able to rev from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. Extra performance capabilities include red four-piston Brembo brakes, active damping suspension, rounded exhaust tips, and more.
“Chrysler brand is proud to mark the legacy of the Chrysler 300C as a true automotive icon, one of the original muscle cars representing bold American luxury. As we celebrate the last HEMI-powered 300C off the line with our Brampton team members, we’re also excited to work together as the Chrysler brand moves forward to a sustainable all-electric future as part of the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan.” -Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand chief executive officer.
2023 Chrysler 300 Touring
2023 is kicking off with an excellent start for the Chrysler 300 Series (LX), and it seems to be the rear-wheel drive (RWD) sedan’s last year being manufactured. However, the 300 is still producing new features, such as improved technology and performance segments. The spotlight has been on the 392 HEMI-powered 2023 Chrysler 300C Limited Edition for quite some time, but now that light is shining on the 2023 Chrysler 300 Touring.
The 300 Touring is an entry-level car in the 300 lineups, but it is more impressive than it looks. It’s a well-equipped sedan that comes with the option of the new 300C at a very affordable cost. Let’s dive more into what this new sedan offers, starting with its powertrain. The Touring model comes with a humble 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that distributes 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Pentastar is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and has an option for rear-wheel-drive (AWD). For the AWD system, there is a front-axle disconnect that can get to any speed without the driver having to put forth more traction.
A remarkable feature of all the Chrysler 300 vehicles is the clear air filtration system, which helps by eliminating dust, smoke, droplets, and aerosols. The 2023 Chrysler 300 Touring has a Manufacturing Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $33,545 (not including the $1,595 destination fee).
Chrysler Entering The EV World
The Chrysler 300 model is ending after being in production for 13 years, but a new electric model will take its place. It’s unclear what the name will be, but the new electric sedan will be similar in look and size to the Dodge Charger Daytona Concept. The 300 and Charger Daytona are built on the same platform, so it’s not surprising if different car brands have similar designs. There is a Chrysler 300 successor possibly coming out in 2026 that is battery-powered and gets between 201 and 443 horsepower and, of course, an 800-volt electrical architecture.
End Of An Era
Even though production is ending for the Chrysler 300 sedan, don’t hesitate to come on down to Vision Automotive Group to check out the 2023 models today.
